Tim has worked in Finance for 30 years. Qualifying as a CPA (Certified Practising Accountant) in Australia, Tim has working in various finance roles in Rio Tinto (Australia), then in the UK with The Economist, Serco Rail Property and as Finance Director of Calisen for a number of years.
Richard is Rector of Holy Innocents Church in South Manchester and a semi-retired venture capitalist. He is also a trustee of two other charities: Hulme Hall Trust Foundation (which he chairs) and The Manchester Tech Trust.
Richard has been instrumental in setting up Taban and is the chairman, overseeing all elements of the charity, drawing on his considerable experience in both ministry and business.
Yousef comes from a business background, graduating from Azarabadeghan university in Tabriz with a degree in Educational Science, Yousef has worked for Stockport council since 2003, His is bilingual and works in outreach, translation and interpretation.
He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, 12 year ago Yousef setup Yaran North West charity, to help Iranian refugees. Yousef currently runs a poetry club to keep our culture and heritage. For 10 years Yousef ran a Drop-in centre through the Stockport council to advise and signpost Iranian in Stockport.
Hilary is a retired secondary school deputy headteacher. As church warden at Holy Innocents she led the growing work with migrants from its inception, organising and providing pastoral and practical support. Taban was her idea.
Actar Arya is an entrepreneurial business leader, growing DA Languages, a translation and interpretation business from scratch. As CEO, she was fundamental in building the business, securing funding then a successful exit. Actar is now investing in companies & start-ups alongside helping achieve turnarounds in sales, revenue & profits. In addition, Actar is a board director of DA Languages and Secretary of Sand investments Ltd & Arya Development.
